| TaiChi
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial arts form that involves slow,
graceful, controlled postures and limb movements and emphasizes
natural breathing.
You don't have to suffer from arthritis or any other disease to
reap the benefits of Tai Chi. Practitioners say it enhances balance,
improves concentration, and reduces stress.
Two studies sponsored by the National Institute on Ageing U.S.(NIA),
found Tai Chi can reduce the risk of falls in the elderly and help
people over age 70 maintain balance and strength.
A two-year study at the National Taiwan University Hospital in
China found Tai Chi can help slow the decline of cardiorespiratory
function in adults.
Harvard Women's Health Watch U.S. reports Tai Chi may lower blood
pressure, restore confidence, promote cardiopulmonary function and
help reduce stress .
Sports Medicine Digest tells how Tai Chi can help people have less
fear of falling, have better grip strength and reduce their blood
pressure.
