Therapy
So, what is CranioSacral Therapy? CST is an extremely gentle procedure
that corrects problems associated with the Brain and Spinal Chord
function. Problems may include chronic pain, eye difficulties, Scoliosis,
motor-coordination impairments, learning disabilities and other
health challenges. CST is a gentle method of detection and correction
that encourages your own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate
these negative effects of stress from your central nervous system.
You also benefit from overall increased wellbeing and resistance
to disease.
The CranioSacral system consists of the Membranes and Cerebrospinal
Fluid that surround and protect the Brain and Spinal Chord. It extends
from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which makes up the
Cranium, down to the Sacrum, or the tailbone area. Since this vital
system influences the development and performance of the Brain and
Spinal Chord, and imbalance or restriction in it could potentially
cause any number of sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities.
The Upledger Institute, Inc, Health Plex Clinic from 1996 to 1997
carried out the first known programme to incorporate CranioSacral
Therapy (CST), a proven Therapeutic Modality, simultaneously while
being in contact with Dolphins. The very favourable outcomes experienced
by the diverse patient population highlighted the importance of
Dolphin sound and energy and the success in treatments when combined
with CranioSacral Therapy.
CranioSacral Therapy has become widely recognized. The US Government
have used it successfully to treat Vietnam War veterans suffering
from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The RUC in Norther Ireland
has used CranioSacral Therapy to successfully treat victims of violence.
In Ireland, CranioSacral Therapy is successfully used to treat children
with learning and brain disorders.
