This Child Development Course course looks
at ways of developing meaningful interactions with people
on the autism spectrum. Through the experiences of the presenter
and others, we will examine some important questions and ideas
about forming relationships with others such as
• Is a relationship more than maintaining
proximity with another person?
• How can people with autism make the leap from objects
and parallel play to meaningful interaction with others?
• What environmental structures can help those with
autism form acquaintances, move towards friendship, and having
a significant other in their lives?
