Choosing a college and staying there.

This course introduces common problems encountered by college students on the autism spectrum transitioning from high school and home into a college environment. Some topics covered as these young adults experience the paradigm shift from being advocated for in public school to having to advocate for ones self in college. Some of the topics covered will include obtaining academic accommodations and strategies, legal issues, residential and housing considerations, as well as developing self-advocacy skills while the student is still in the public schools.

How many modules are in this course?
This course is the equivalent to a power point presentation. It has been used as a presentation by Stephen Shore. You will hear Stephen present his course material as you move through the presentation, as if you were in the lecture hall.

How long will it take to complete each module?
The time it takes to complete each module is entirely up to you. You can stop at any point in the lecture and resume again when you are ready. You can repeat the lecture as you wish to get the most from the material presented.

Can I proceed at my own pace?
Yes. The course may be taken at your own time and pace and at the times most convenient to you.

I am not that familiar with PC's. Will I be able to do this course?
Yes. If you’ve made it this far, your already have what it takes.

Will my PC be sufficiently equipped for this course?
Yes. Unless your PC is over 5 years old you will be able to run this course easily. Most PC's today are fully equipped to manage this course.

Will I have the opportunity to network with other people on this course?
Yes, meeting up with other people registered on this course is an enjoyable way to exchange ideas and share experiences. This is a valuable part of the course and is entirely optional.
