Life on and Slightly to the Right of the Autism spectrum

Stephen Shore is one of the few people to view Autism/ Asperger Syndrome as a gift. Stephen does not see himself as special or a miracle but purely as somebody who was blessed and is now able to share his story with those of us that are affected by Autism/ Asperger Syndrome, whether that be directly, through a family member or in the classroom.

Stephen Shore was diagnosed with Autism/ Asperger Syndrome at age 2 ½, he now has the advantage of remembering how it feels and he uses this advantage to explain “why” Autistic/ Asperger Syndrome children react and behave the way they do. Life on and slightly to the right of the autism spectrum uses the autobiographical format to bring greater understand of life with autism from the inside out.

In this course Stephen brings us right back to his nonverbal days and how he advanced from there, to mainstream schooling. Stephen explains in great detail his view of the “Spectrum” and how he believes “everybody can move to a lighter side of the spectrum regardless of age or the severity of their condition.”
